New Server Infrastructure

Installation of a new core server infrastructure based on VMware virtualisation technology and Microsoft and Linux operating systems platforms, backed up quickly and efficiently by VEEAM and significantly enhancing disaster recovery times

Challenge

Based in Lincoln, Inzpire is one of the fastest growing defence companies in the UK. The Inzpire team is made up of Royal Navy, British Army & Royal Air Force, with front line experience in operations and they were looking for a robust IT network to match.

Due to the nature of the business Inzpire required a strategic, professional and thorough team of engineers to support their network.

Approach and Solution

Through careful project planning and constant contact with the Inzpire team, Datcom scoped and implemented improvements to the Windows network. The solution centred on a scalable server system, to ensure Inzpires’ needs for the future will be met.

In addition to internal network improvements, Datcom also improved Inzpires’ internet access by installing a leased line. Datcom communicated between Inzpire & their external security contractor, to ensure the highest level of security was met and maintained throughout the network.

Results

Changes to the Windows network has proven reliable & scalable, providing a stable platform to expand the scope of Inzpires IT.

Management and implementing the office move was smooth and without delay. Systems were transferred within 24 hours with minimal disruption to the business.

With a pragmatic and professional approach, the Datcom technical team installed a dedicated leased line therefore providing higher speeds, faster uploads and improved reliability.
