Charity of the Year: Lymphoma Action

Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma – the most common cancer in 15- 24-year olds and the UK’s fifth most common cancer.

For over 30 years, they’ve been helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma and we at Datcom want to do everything we can to support them. They support people affected by lymphoma at every step, providing advice and reassurance tailored to their individual experience. From symptom awareness through diagnosis, treatment and beyond, they’re there to help – all free of charge!

How our donations can make a difference

£1000 covers the costs of two Buddies who provide tailored support to individuals.

£1500 covers the costs of 55 calls to their Helpline. In 2021, about 3000 people contacted the charity directly for help and support.

£2500 covers the mailing costs for one mailing of Lymphoma Matters magazine. Each issue goes out to around 9000 people, with a further 4000 being sent out digitally.

Raising money

Our target this year is to raise £1500 and cover the costs of those vital helpline calls. We’ve already started raising funds with a gaming day & BBQ at the office, battle of the moustache and a brave the shave for one hairy engineer!

In spring next year, we’re going to new heights – with a few very brave people volunteering to take part in a sky dive.
